Saturday Follow-Ups

Just thought I'd touch base with you on a few items from previous blogs. You can think of it as sort of a spring cleaning, albeit a late--really late--spring. Which reminds me, summer solstice is coming! Woo hoo! Pagans unite!

I. The vote tally is in on the picture selection for the animal advocacy calendar. By a slim margin, it's Gunther! However, compelling cases were made for both Hope and Frederick, plus I just sent off some new Max pictures to gal pal e! for feedback, so this decision is a loooong way from being made. Frankly, it will probably end in a coin toss. Sorry.

B. Remember my cute nephew? The one in the baseball uniform with his arm sticking out? Well, here's another picture of him taken the year before that one. On a cuteness scale of 1-10, I'd say he's about a 392. Note that the same situation with the ears is occurring.

3. On the haiku front, please take a look at the comments section on that blog for a) an award-winning haiku about e. coli from Moi (nice job, girl!) and b) some more really kickass selections from my brother Rob. Topics include vasectomies, toots, and spam--nothing is sacred to that boy. Here's a sampling:

Cinderella says,
"Don't bother with the princes.
You can *eat* the frogs."

IV. Not related to any blog at all, check out this link: http://youtube.com/watch?v=TcKCaQUjOj0 In this video you will see Rob bouncing on a trampoline. Also vividly included is his long, lanky son Robert (big brother to the baseball squirt, just for reference) and his indescribably strange friend, zak. Well, they're both strange, but Robert's my nephew, so at least I can understand his strangeness; it smells familiar. Zak, well, hmm....I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions.

And on a last note--afanny, please don't fret too much about those native New Mexico gators. Remember, should you ever encounter one on the trail, all you have to be able to do is run faster than Bob. And if that's not possible, just trip him. And make sure you have the car keys.

Have a wunnerful, wunnerful Saturday, my friends!

Thank you Thistle for your very WICKED idea about Bob and New Mexico alligators! I admire the strategy, but must decline since he did the HEIMLICH MANEUVER on me last week! I am now obliged to him despite a broken rib. There is no justice in this cruel world!
