i've had within the last 24 hours: artichoke hearts and pesto, as well as sesame vinaigrette with cilantro chicken and romaine, and delicious fat soft tacos; not to mention a donut with chocolate AND nuts upon it.
but aj really wants fried grits and burned toasts.
My mum is delightful, and I'm glad other people see that, too. She's right excellent. Right this very minute she's packing to go. I am trying my best to ignore that fact because I want her to stay, stay, stay. As we say to one another, though, we can't ever come back if we don't ever leave. So there's that. And I'll see her again is just a few months. And in the meantime we've had a fabulously good time.
(re AJ's delicious 24 hrs above: that was a shining moment in the Annals of AJ's Repasts, and it's been tasteless crud before and since; but hey, what timing on the Good Stuff Day eh! ev'body wins!)
and, moi: we do not scrape toast. that's naughty.
"we can't ever come back if we don't ever leave" reminds me of my nearly all time favorite country song & its title..."how can i miss you if you won't go away?"
and WHAT is the story on the deleted comment in the queen mum's section on the dangpresentblog? expiring minds want to blow.
it's monday and AJ simply doesn't care what the world thinks. bite my shiny metal ass, world.
I never suggested you scrape the toast. Simply that you toss it to the birds and start over. So as to achieve the perfect toast-ness. But perhaps, that only happens in Moi's world. Burnt toast makes the roof my mouth itch terribly.
after six cycles of "burn toast, toss to birds, start over", i see infinity; i give up, i scrape. it's my own fault; my ignominy and shame -- and then all those birds sitting on my windowsill, shortchanged and angry, chirping at me, "dude, that's gross. just toss it here."
like the toast itself, i've been burned. wickedy and QM know the score on toast. (plus QM *likes* it that way...heh heh)

Yummo! QM should visit more often and you'd get breakfast.
Of course your baking is to die for..
You do know, don't you, that you can redo the toast.
Your mom is simply delightful, BTW. Wish I'd had more time to converse. Would have loved to hear about China . . .
But Moi, why??
